Strength - Morning Gratitude Routine

1

Stay in the presence of God

Begin by acknowledging His presence. Be still. Breathe. Know that He is here, now, with you.

2

Thank God for His love

Express gratitude for His unfailing love, His mercy that is new every morning, His faithfulness that endures forever.

3

Purify intentions

Examine your heart. Ask God to purify your motives, align your will with His, and make your intentions worthy of this sacred day.

4

Live as you would like to die

Consider: if this were your last day, how would you live it? Let that vision guide your choices, your words, your love today.

Heart - Morning Prayers

Thank you Jesus for giving me this day. Thank you Jesus for the opportunity to live it for you. Make me a blessing to those around me. Make my heart beat in time with yours so that I can bring your perspective to each situation that I find myself.

Father, my intelligence cannot compare to yours. Please give me the wisdom to see your plan in my life and help me to follow your direction.

God, you are worthy of all my praise, and You created me to praise You! So please show me how to worship you in all that I do! When people look back on my life, I want them to give You glory. So please teach me how to make my life an act of worship. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on me a sinner.

The Jesus Prayer

Yes Lord, I want all that you ask and all that will please you.

Lord, into your hands I abandon my past, my present, and my future.

Soul - Scripture

Silence & Stillness

Only someone who is silent is listening.

Disappear and let God be all.

To reach satisfaction in all, desire its possession in nothing.

If calmness is needed for thinking, silence is needed for love.

Contemplative Truths

We must seek a contemplative quality of life.

Simplifying my life does not mean I'm living my life any less profoundly.

Union with God demands departure of self.

Our love has to face its own poverty as an awakening to our need in God in Christ.

With an intimate and developing one-on-one relationship, God reveals himself more.

God is God and we are not.

I am exactly where I need to be.

Everything is today.

The answer to fear is faith.

Jesus lived as we did, so we could live as he did.

Wisdom

Wisdom is knowing and having discernment, so that we can apply the truth of the Word of God at the right time, in the right way, and with the right motive.

Wisdom is the power of the soul to know truth. The rational mind can prohibit comprehending truth; through the heart we can perceive and understand the deepest truths.

My purpose is what I choose it to be when I am conducting it in accordance to my whole heart, my whole soul, my whole strength and my whole mind, and loving my neighbor as myself.

I commit 15 minutes each morning to this practice with intention. Any extra time, I try to sit in silence.

God's language is silence.

"To desire what is good for oneself and to seek prosperity or happiness is part of man's nature, and it is not a sin or vice. But we need to know, here on earth true and perfect happiness and prosperity will never be. For all of prosperity and happiness is only in God."

Saint Innocent of Alaska, Indication of the Way into the Kingdom of Heaven
